Tess is an Appraiser and Art Advisor with over 15 years experience working in top galleries and art institutions
After studying Art History at Queen’s University, as well as in Italy, Tess went on to receive her Masters of Museum Studies (MMSt) from the University of Toronto. In 2007 she was trained in archival practices in the archive of Dieu Donné in New York City.
In 2008 Tess began a 12 year career at Toronto’s Bau-Xi Gallery, where she served as the Gallery Manager. Here she was able to build on her expertise and knowledge of Canadian art, and foster strong relationships with artists, patrons, and art world professionals.
Additional experience in the arts includes prior positions with the Art Gallery of Ontario, and Christie’s Canada.
Tess has professional training in appraisal theory, principles, and procedures through the International Society of Appraisers, with a specialty in Fine Art.
